In Marrakech, “Spanish centre” can mean the Instituto Cervantes (official institution, courses and DELE exam centre at 14-14 bis, Boulevard Mohamed V, Guéliz) or a private centre such as Millennia Centre de Formation (courses and preparation, no diploma issuance). Unlike Italian CILS, which is taken in Rabat, you do not need to leave Marrakech to sit the DELE: the session takes place in the city, at Instituto Cervantes.
Why Spanish in Marrakech?
Spanish is not Morocco's most spoken language, but in Marrakech it serves concrete projects:
- Tourism and hospitality: Iberian clientele, bookings, front desk
- Studies: universities in Spain, Erasmus exchanges, Campus Spain applications
- Professional mobility: Spain, but also Latin America in trade and logistics
- Complement to other languages: many learners combine Spanish + English or Spanish + French
The right centre is not the one promising “Spanish in 30 days”, but the one that places your real level and links the language to your goal.

Both can fit in one path: classes or preparation in a private centre with suitable hours, DELE registration at Instituto Cervantes. The institute also offers DELE prep courses a few weeks before official sessions, but it is not the only option in Marrakech.
Where to sit the DELE in Marrakech
The DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) certifies Spanish level under the CEFR (A1 to C2). It is an official diploma, issued by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

Registration: official form, photo ID, fee payment, send by email or submit at the office. One week before the exam, the candidate returns to collect the summons with venue, date and time of each section.
Millennia does not collect DELE fees and does not issue the summons.
How to choose a private centre in Gueliz
Two Spanish centres can both be in Gueliz without offering the same thing: Instituto Cervantes (Boulevard Mohamed V) teaches and certifies; a private centre teaches and prepares. Ask six questions:
- What level do you place me in, and on what basis?
- Do you prepare for the DELE or only conversation?
- Where does the exam take place if I want a diploma? For Marrakech the correct answer is Instituto Cervantes.
- What is the group size? Speaking requires talking every session.
- Which slots are open this session? Evening and weekend if you work.
- Does the centre distinguish an internal certificate from the DELE?
“Top 5 Spanish centres Marrakech” lists with no address and no exam/preparation distinction do not help.
What Millennia does — and does not do
Millennia Centre de Formation is a language centre in Gueliz, near Bab Doukkala. On Spanish, the published offer is:
- A1 to C1 pathways
- conversation, grammar and Hispanic culture
- DELE preparation across all four skills
- morning, afternoon, evening and weekend slots depending on open sessions
It is not a DELE exam centre. Session registration, exam fees and the diploma remain with Instituto Cervantes Marrakech.

Common mistakes
- Confusing “Spanish classes” with “DELE diploma”: only Instituto Cervantes issues the DELE in Marrakech.
- Registering late for the session: registration deadlines are set by the institute, not the preparation centre.
- Choosing a centre only because it is “in Gueliz” without checking whether it prepares the DELE or only conversation.
- Believing you must take Instituto Cervantes courses to sit the DELE: preparation can happen elsewhere; the exam is at the institute.
- Ignoring the summons: one week before the test you must return to the centre to collect it.
